Culture

Colorado Springs has a friendly, down-to-earth vibe that reflects the spirit of the people who live here. You’ll find a culture centered around health, wellness and the great outdoors. Residents value clean air, active lifestyles and spending time in nature.

Community events, local breweries, art walks and farmers’ markets are all part of daily life. You’ll meet people who love hiking on the weekends, biking to work or hitting the slopes in winter. There’s a strong connection between the land and the lifestyle, people don’t just live here, they live well.

Weather

Moving from a place like Florida? Expect a noticeable change in climate, but one that many grow to love quickly. Colorado Springs offers four true seasons, each with its own character and natural beauty.

Summer is warm and sunny with average highs between 80°F and 90°F. Thanks to the dry climate, the heat is much more comfortable compared to humid coastal areas.

Fall cools down nicely with highs ranging from 60°F to 75°F and crisp evenings perfect for a light jacket and a mountain view.

Winter can be cold with average highs between 40°F and 50°F and overnight lows that often dip below freezing. Snow is common, especially from December through February, but it’s usually followed by clear skies and sunshine.

Spring is a mix of sun, rain, and the occasional snowflake, with temps gradually rising from the mid 40s into the 60s and 70s by late April and May.

The snow here is part of the charm. Colorado Springs often looks like a postcard in winter and with the Rocky Mountains just minutes away, skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing are always within reach. Plus, thanks to over 300 days of sunshine a year, even snowy days feel bright and uplifting.
